Hello LoVers,

Valentine’s Day can feel complicated for singles…especially if you’ve been genuinely showing up and putting yourself out there for a while. If this week brings up a mix of hope, fatigue, or quiet discouragement, you’re not alone. Dating burnout isn’t a sign of failure; it’s usually a sign that you care and that you’re discerning but you’re going for it anyways. The goal isn’t to harden or retreat, but to stay open in ways that feel supportive and sustainable.

This week is about connection without pressure. If you’re local, I’d love to see you at our Valentine’s Day singles party… it’s just a fun, low-pressure way to spend “singles awareness day” and a chance to be in the room with other thoughtful, intentional singles and let real conversations happen naturally.

On Thursday morning, tune in to Good Morning Connecticut on News 8 WTNH, where I’ll be sharing practical, pressure-free tips for navigating Valentine’s week with confidence and heart.Even one good conversation, or one small shift, can change how this whole week feels. Here for you!

HOT TOPIC: Is Your Relationship Boring or Just Calm?

Here’s what nobody tells you: Your nervous system may have been trained to confuse danger with desire. And when you finally meet someone healthy? Someone who doesn’t trigger your abandonment wounds or make you anxious? Your body doesn’t know what to do with that. It reads “calm” as “boring.” Safety as “no chemistry.” Regulation as “something must be wrong.” But you’re not bored. You’re just not activated.

Read about it here and tell me what you think!

Red-haired woman rolls her eyes in a beige room with stairs. Text reads "Wow, this is boring." Mood: unimpressed.

TOP 3: Ways to Argue Less

  1. Do less of the same: To break free from unproductive patterns of interacting, you have to change your steps in the dance. When you do, the dance will change.

  2. Talk less, listen more: Unfortunately, when it comes to an argument, we’re often too busy stating our positions to genuinely hear or be curious about our partners’ thoughts or feelings.

  3. Take a time out: One key to de-escalating dead-end debates lies in your ability to spot them early on, before you become emotionally hijacked, and then take an agreed-upon time out.

The Funnies! Because You’ve Got to Laugh…

Tweet by Jessie showing a humorous comparison: Husband asks about the can opener on Day 1 and Day 4563 of marriage.

Text on a plain white background reads: "You know that tingly little feeling you get when you like someone? That's common sense leaving your body."
