Hello LoVers,

There are no hard and fast RULES for the early stages of dating that would apply to everyone. There truly is a lid for every pot but a first date conversation that excites one person may be a huge turn off for someone else.  BUT with that said, there are so many times that I hear clients telling me about things that were said on first dates that make me CRINGE because they really just tank the vibe unnecessarily.

Here are a few topics to AVOID on the first few dates:

• Politics (even if you are like minded on the topic it’s just a mood killer.)

• Sex (TOO SOON!)

• Anything at all involving bodily functions. (Yes, seriously.)

• Exes, money, past traumas, (It’s not a therapy sesh.)

Do yourself a favor and KEEP IT LIGHT and stay curious about your date without interviewing them. Talk about and ask about things like shared interests, bucket list adventures, favorite trips, foods, restaurants, Show genuine interest in them and share authentically about yourself and most importantly don’t try to figure out if you can share a life with this person after one date. All you really need to know after a first date is if you’re interested in a 2nd one. Have fun!

Singles Summertime Mixer on August 8!

Join us at Sign of the Whale's rooftop bar to mix and mingle with local singles and potentially meet your match. Meeting other singles is tough... so we're make it easy by bringing together singles for you at this fun, laid back event!

Did you know, that as a matchmaker, I meet singles at every event that end up on dates with my private matchmaking clients and many have ended up in long term relationships with them too. You never know who you’ll meet at the event or who you ultimately can be connected with just by taking a chance and SHOWING UP!

Check-in starts at 6:30pm. This is an open-aged mixer so singles of all ages are welcomed to attend. However, keep in mind events are typically attended mainly by singles ranging from 30-55. There is usually someone for everyone. Extended happy hour pricing will be offered.
