Singles Sparks - CT and NY Matchmaker Insights for Singles - September 20 Edition
Hello LoVers, Today is my birthday! I'm always especially reflective around my birthday, my children's birthdays and most holidays. Okay, fine... I'm almost always emotionally vulnerable, sensitive and reflective. You got me :) But today, more than anything, I'm celebrating! I'm celebrating that I'm alive! I'm celebrating my children, my work that means so much to me, the people I love and all the love that already exists in my life. And I hope you're taking time to CELEBRATE THE LOVE IN YOUR LIFE, too. Our love lives, work lives and family lives are so completely woven together. When one part of us grows, heals or changes, it touches everything else. The love we SEE + FEEL IN OUR LIVES affects how we show up for ourselves and in turn for our people. The way we care for ourselves influences what we create in our work and the people we allow close can either make our whole world feel safer or slowly pull us away from ourselves. With every trip around the sun, I think less about the number and more about who I'm becoming. Life has taught me that growth doesn't always look like achievement. Sometimes it's softening. Letting go. Accepting what is. Forgiving yourself for what you didn't know before you learned it. And love is not only something we find in another person. (Read that again.) Love is allowing ourselves to be fully seen. It's accepting people for who they are while loving ourselves enough to recognize what is and isn't meant for us. It's having faith that WHAT IS MEANT FOR YOU WILL NOT PASS BY YOU. I practice a walk in gratitude every day, even while still wanting more. Gratitude and desire coexist. We can deeply appreciate the life and love we have today while still holding hope for everything our hearts know is possible. I'm incredibly grateful for all of you who have allowed me into your inboxes and sometimes into the most vulnerable parts of your (love) lives. Thank you for reading, replying, sharing your stories and growing alongside me. An evening of guided speed networking in New Canaan's historic Carriage Barn gallery, hosted by matchmaker Jill Dunn. This is NOT a Jillin' It SINGLES mixer! This is a an event I was invited to host where regardless of relationship status, local professionals can come to build meaningful connections.
