Hello LoVers,

There’s a lot of conversation right now about dating more intentionally…fewer alcohol-fueled first dates, more clarity, more presence. And I fully support that. Being grounded enough to actually feel the person in front of you? That’s so powerful. But here’s the nuance…

Some experts are pointing out that as we drink less in social settings overall, we’re also socializing less freely. Alcohol, for better or worse, has historically lowered inhibition just enough for people to start conversations. I mean… how many flirty first interactions or unexpected friendships began over a shared laugh in a bathroom line or at the bar?

So this isn’t about whether you drink or don’t drink. It’s about whether you’re willing to pop out of your comfort zone enough to initiate something. To say hello first. To linger a little longer. To tolerate a flicker of awkwardness without retreating into your phone.

We’ve optimized our lives for safety. For control. For predictability. But connection lives in micro-risks. In eye contact. In boldness. In real life. If you want the good, gooey, juicy parts of partnership, you don’t need a buzz… you need bravery Be BOLD!  And that? That’s a muscle that you’ve got to exersize.

This week, I DARE YOU: Put yourself in one real-life setting where connection is possible + and initiate one interaction. One compliment. One question. One “Hi, I don’t think we’ve met.” Build the muscle. And if you’re ready for more structure and support in your dating life, the waitlist is open for my private matchmaking programs. The right matches happen when timing and courage meet intention.

HOT TOPIC: Habits That Can Hold Back Your Love Life

Trying to conceptualize love — to understand it, define it, or finally get it right in your own life — can feel like a complicated game you never quite win. People often try to read or reflect on the promise to try to do things differently. Yet, somehow, the same patterns can seem to circle back. It’s not that you don’t want love or that you’re not ready for it. Unconsciously, you may have built habits that keep you safe but also keep you stuck.

Read about it here and tell me what you think!

TOP 3: Signs of Settling in a Relationship

  1. Feeling Numb or Indifferent: If a person feels emotionally numb or indifferent towards their partner or their relationship, this often stems from a lack of emotional connection or they may be struggling with unresolved traumatic wounding.

  2. Sex Replaces Emotional Intimacy: A common occurrence is to use sex as a way of avoiding emotional vulnerability or emotional intimacy, especially during sensitive issues that may arise between partners. Ultimately, both partners end up “settling” for an empty relationship void of authentic connection or emotional intimacy.

  3. Lack of Autonomy: Being in a relationship (even an unsatisfying one) may offer a sense of “self” by taking on a partner’s likes or dislikes. “Settling” in a relationship as a way of obtaining a sense of self-identity often points to deeper issues.
