Singles Sparks - CT and NY Matchmaker Insights for Singles - September 6 Edition

Hello LoVers, At some point, you do have to wonder if it's really EVERYONE ELSE. A client said something to me this week that I LOVED. She's been meeting men who check so many of her boxes... same stage of life, divorced with young kids, desire for a blended family, successful, active, emotionally ready for a relationship. But she simply hasn't been attracted to them. And after this happened a few times, she stopped and wondered: "Wait... do I just not find men attractive anymore?" What I loved was that she was willing to look at herself. Not to assume she was the problem, but to get curious about her part in the pattern. She actually challenged herself to start noticing men out in the world she did find attractive and was very happy to report back that, YES, she found plennnty! Great. Now we have information. We can dig deeper into what attraction actually means to her and refine the search from there, because attraction absolutely matters, but it's rarely just a good looking face. It's physicality, presence, energy, style, confidence, how someone carries themselves... and sometimes something we can't quite put into words. So as we head into a new season, maybe take a look at anything that seems to keep happening in your own dating life and ask: "What part of this belongs to me?" Self-reflection isn't self-blame. It's information. And sometimes the thing that changes your dating life isn't finding different people. It's seeing your own patterns a little differently.
