Singles Sparks - Your Weekly Love Link - NOV 17

Hello Lovers,

You should (almost) always go on a 2nd date. There, I said it. Just hear me out. After a client goes on a date, I do a recap call with both parties—and sometimes I wonder if they were even on the same date! Nerves and overthinking can cloud those first impressions.

Some people assume that if there’s no huge spark on the first date, then there never will be. But the truth is, it’s hard to gauge real chemistry in just a few hours. A better question to ask yourself is: How did the date make me feel? Did you feel attractive? Did they show genuine interest?

If you’re on the fence, go for the second date. You’re not leading someone on—it’s about staying curious. Unless there’s a clear dealbreaker, every date is a chance to learn more about yourself and what you’re looking for. So, go! 💕

What about a first date though!? Are you in my complimentary database? Get in there! I might have your match!

Two EVENTS are LIVE! But if you plan on coming you should definitely get in the Jillin' It Love Club first. Member-only perks and promo codes are one of the many benefits. ;)

HOT TOPIC: How to Thrive Being Single During the Holidays

Despite the fact that there’s nothing inherently sexy or romantic about the winter holidays, the season somehow has become imbued with the pressure to be in a great relationship. Holiday rom-coms and jewelry commercials abound this time of year, and, if you’re single and visiting with relatives, you’re almost guaranteed to hear a less-than-sensitive “Are you seeing anyone special?” from someone at the dinner table.

TOP 3: Tips on Preventing the Same Relationship Mistakes

  1. Reflect on Past Relationships: Spend time considering past relationships, especially what went wrong. Identify specific patterns or mistakes, like over-committing too early, avoiding conflict, or ignoring red flags. Write down the specific behaviors that contributed to negative outcomes so that you can recognize them when they start to show up.

  2. Practice Setting and Respecting Boundaries: Old patterns often include poor boundaries, like sacrificing your needs to avoid conflict or letting others cross your personal limits. Set clear boundaries from the start and respect them as the relationship progresses.

  3. Challenge Negative Self-Beliefs: Our relationship patterns often come from negative beliefs about ourselves (e.g., “I’m not good enough,” “I need to please others to be loved”). Notice any such beliefs that may fuel unhealthy patterns. Challenge these beliefs by affirming your self-worth and practicing self-compassion.
